Syn Ack Fin is a SOC 2 Type II audited managed IT services provider.
Our clients trust us with administrator access to the systems their businesses run on: email, files, networks, backups, and the devices their teams use every day. We believe that kind of trust should be verified independently, not just promised in a proposal. That’s why we’ve invested in a SOC 2 Type II audit, performed by an independent CPA firm.
What SOC 2 Type II Means for You
SOC 2 is an audit framework developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). A Type II audit goes beyond reviewing policies on paper. It tests whether a provider’s practices actually operated consistently over an extended period of time, with evidence.
For our clients, that translates into a few practical benefits:
- Independent verification. The way we describe our operations is the way an outside auditor found them to operate.
- Easier vendor-risk conversations. Cyber insurance applications, client security questionnaires, board reviews, and regulators increasingly ask how your IT vendors are vetted. An audited provider makes those answers simpler.
- Consistency across our team. Audited processes mean the same standards apply no matter which SAF team member is working in your environment.
- Accountability. An audit that tests our work over time keeps us honest about continuous improvement, not a one-time checkbox.

Built for Organizations That Answer to Someone
We work with education, hospitality, nonprofit, and financial organizations in Denver, Hawaii, and Oregon. Each of them is responsible for information that isn’t theirs alone:
- Education: student and family information, and the expectations of parents, boards, and districts.
- Hospitality: guest data, payment environments, and reputations built on discretion.
- Nonprofits: donor and program participant information, grant requirements, and funder scrutiny.
- Financial services: client financial data and some of the strictest oversight of any industry.
When your IT provider holds the keys to that information, their standards become part of yours.
Requesting Our SOC 2 Report
Like most SOC 2 reports, ours contains detailed information about how we operate, so we share it under a nondisclosure agreement. Current clients and organizations actively evaluating SAF can request a copy, and we’re happy to walk you through how to read it.

Help With Your Own Compliance Requirements
Our audit is only part of the story. Many of our clients have their own obligations, and we help them keep up with the IT side of the work:
- Completing vendor and client security questionnaires about the IT environment we manage
- Supporting cyber insurance applications and renewals
- Providing documentation for your auditors, examiners, and board
- Aligning your IT practices with frameworks like HIPAA, SOC 2, and NIST
Ask yourself: If a client, insurer, or auditor asked tomorrow how your IT provider protects your data, would you have an answer backed by evidence?
Frequently Asked Questions
Is SOC 2 a certification?
You’ll often hear it called a certification, and it’s the term most people search for. Technically, SOC 2 is an attestation: an independent CPA firm’s formal opinion, supported by a detailed report describing what was tested and what was found.
What’s the difference between SOC 2 Type I and Type II?
A Type I report evaluates whether controls are designed appropriately at a single point in time. A Type II report tests whether those controls actually operated effectively over a period of months. Type II is the more demanding of the two.
Does SOC 2 mean a provider can’t be breached?
No, and any provider who says otherwise should make you cautious. No framework eliminates risk. What SOC 2 Type II demonstrates is that a provider has disciplined, independently tested practices for preventing, detecting, and responding to problems.
Does SAF’s SOC 2 report cover my business?
Our report covers SAF’s own operations as a service provider. Your organization’s compliance obligations are separate, but working with an audited provider can make meeting them easier, and we can help with the IT portion of that work.
How do I get a copy of the report?
Contact our team. We’ll send a nondisclosure agreement and share the report once it’s signed.
Choosing an IT provider is a decision about who you trust with your business. We’d welcome the chance to show you how we earn it.
